This study forecasts the feasibility of detecting a cross-correlation signal between 21-cm maps from the Hydrogen Epoch of Reionization Array (HERA) and spectroscopically confirmed Lyman-α Emitters (LAEs) during the Epoch of Reionization. Researchers leveraged advanced radiation-hydrodynamic simulations (Thesan) and realistic HERA instrumental models to demonstrate that a 3σ detection is possible with HERA's current configuration, requiring as few as 43 LAEs at high global neutral fractions or around 1000 LAEs in a fiducial reionization scenario, provided spectroscopic redshifts are available.
