Locked In Ice: how Pebble Drift and Volatile Entrapment can Significantly Impact Carbon and Oxygen Ratios in Evolving Protoplanetary Discs

A new model integrates volatile CO entrapment within water ice with pebble drift in dynamically evolving protoplanetary discs, revealing that this process increases inner disc gas-phase C/O and C/H ratios by up to a factor of 10 in early stages. It also produces central CO peaks consistent with observations.
